|
Stephen King was born in September 1947. Stephen Kling is an accomplished writer and the author of many great books. All of his books have done very well. His style of writing is unlike no other. King has a dark side that you cannot even begin to image where he gets his ideas. It was rumored that when he was a child he witnessed one of his friends being trapped on a train track and then struck by the train. The story was true but the rumor is that is where King got his inspiration from. He does deny it and chalks up the dark books to imagination. He was a huge fan of the Tales from the Crypt comic books. This is where he professes his love for the horror genre.
Stephen King attended the University of Maine where he wrote a column called King’s Garbage Truck and his first published story was called In a Half World Terror. As many fans know Stephen King writes his books under two different names , he writes under Stephen King and as Richard Backman. King’s first book for Doubleday Publishing Company was titled Carrie. Carrie is about a girl who is treated horribly in school and she discovers she is telekinetic. Her mother is a religious zealot and soon her anger turns into fury for those who treated her badly. This book was a best seller and was a Motion Picture Starring Sissy Spacek.
Stephen King is married to author Tabitha King and they have 2 sons and 1 daughter. Stephen King, most people don’t know had a drinking problem many years ago. He admitted he was drunk as he wrote some of these books. He was heavily into drugs as well. Stephen King says that is father was an alcoholic and he was the idea behind the main character Jack, in the book The Shining. In the late 80’s his family held an intervention and he soon got help and has remained clean ever since.
In 1999, King was in a terrible car accident. He was walking on the side of the road when a truck hit him, sending him 14 feet into the air. If you are a true Stephen King Fan you will notice that most things that happen in his life some way, shape of form end up in his books. All of his books take place in Maine and in books not related to each other he often references other books stories or characters. Stephen King is the Master of Horror and as fans we look forward to the next book.
